  • To start the morning, awaken your senses with the fresh aroma of a field of lavender at Peace Valley Lavender Farm. With more than 3,000 plants in blossom, the glow of the field will begin your day with a fresh start. Available for purchase are numerous lavender scented items from bath & body to pillows. During the summer, stroll the farm to pick your own bouquet!
  • Enjoy a fresh cup of coffee or tea at the eclectic, Zen Den Café. Their variety of beverages is just what the doctor ordered for a morning burst of energy. Be adventurous and try their unique assortment of 27 organic, loose teas that include their Buddha Boost or Peter Rabbit Peppermint Tea.
  • Enrich your historical knowledge and pay a visit to Bucks County’s famous Mercer Mile. Henry Mercer is the acclaimed leader of the Arts and Crafts Movement who has presented the public with architectural works of art. The Mercer Museum is a picturesque six-story castle containing more than 40,000 historic artifacts featuring early American tools and crafts. Next, step into the home of Henry Mercer at Fonthill Castle which houses 18 grand fireplaces and unique prints inside the Medieval, Byzantine and Gothic architectural wonder. Moravian Pottery & Tile Works is home to vintage handmade tiles and pottery; you can even watch artisans craft tiles in the same way Mercer did years ago.
  • Stop by the nearby Michener Art Museum, featuring a collection of esteemed Pennsylvania Impressionist paintings of the early 20th century that will inspire your inner artist. Coming this fall, the Michener will welcome a one-of-a-kind exhibit honoring the legacy of American royalty, Grace Kelly.
  •  A perfect day in Doylestown would not be complete without a shopping excursion down Main Street. Add a fun twist to your day and stop at the Monkey’s Uncle, a vintage-inspired clothing store that specializes in custom-made tee shirts. From superheroes to punk-rock chic, you will not go unnoticed wearing their apparel.
  • By now, you have worked up an appetite! Satisfy your hunger by dining at The Waterwheel Restaurant. Once a mill owned by a Quaker family known as the Dyers, the 18th century mill was transformed into a quaint inn that now serves a variety of food and drink.  Conveniently, The Waterwheel is a mere five-minute drive from the center of Doylestown.
  • After a day on your feet, give them a break at one of Doylestown’s first movie theaters, the County Theater. Opened in 1938, the theater is known for its variety from independent to foreign films, the community-based environment will heighten your viewing experience.
  • Extend your stay and relax at the charming Highland Farm Bed and Breakfast, once home to Oscar Hammerstein II. Add a touch of romance to your trip by waking up to a delectable breakfast on the wrap-around porch where the late and great Hammerstein spent his time composing and writing lyrics to the Broadway hit Oklahoma! and South Pacific.
