Warm up! Bucks County Launches "Warm Wintry Beverages" Foodspotting Guide

There’s no better way to take the chill out of a wintry day than by cozying up with a toasty beverage. Bucks County offers an abundance of warm drinks designed to thaw your frozen insides. Snuggle up with classic favorites or taste some new favorites as we launch our “Bucks County’s Warm Wintry Beverages” Foodspotting Guide!

• Only the finest in organic and fair trade beans are roasted on-site at the Homestead Coffee Roasters in the Homesteads General Store in Upper Black Eddy. With a dizzying amount of scrumptious flavors from Cinnamon Bun to Cranberry Crème Brulée, you might have trouble choosing just one! Locals recommend the special winter “Jingle Java” flavored coffee (available for a limited time only). If you can’t get enough in a single visit, they can ship any of their coffee beans right to your door.

• Housed in a rustic 18th century barn, you’ll find the charming New Hope Winery, home of Holiday Spice wine, a fruity red wine enhanced with natural spice flavors. Best served warm to bring out the festive flavors, this delicious digestif is available all season long.

• Wake up to a new take on classic chai. Check out local hotspot Langhorne Coffee House’s “Chai with a Kick” made with espresso, steamed organic Chai, steamed milk and almond flavor. Espresso not your thing? Try their classic Chai tea latte made with black tea infused with ginger, honey and milk. Available year-round, these drinks will surely beat the cold weather blues.

• Teleport back to the 18th century with an Evening in the Colonial Kitchen at the Cock ‘N Bull Restaurant in Peddler’s Village in Lahaska. After a traditional four-course colonial dinner with some historic characters, sip a scrumptious wintry drink such as Hot Buttered Rum; a warm, delectable concoction of rum, butter, sugar and spice.  For a non-alcoholic pick-me-up, try a refreshing glass of fresh warm spiced Apple Cider. These drinks are available January through March.

• Enjoy your drink fireside at the Landing Restaurant in New Hope. Feeling adventurous? Try the Honey Badger drink made with Jack Daniels Honey-Infused whiskey, locally made hot apple cider and a cinnamon sugar rim. Guaranteed to take off the winter chill, this tasty drink is available all season long.

• Make your tummy say “Yum!” with warm Alpine Spice wine from the award-winning Sand Castle Winery in Erwinna. This specialty Chardonnay and Riesling dessert wine features Sand Castle Winery’s own secret blend of herbs and spices. Warm Alpine Spice is also available in a non-alcoholic version that everyone can enjoy. This unique and popular wine makes a lovely gift and is delicious served warm with apple pie and vanilla ice cream.

• Chill out and warm up with the Zen Den’s special seasonal Holiday Hazelnut Cream Mocha, better known as the Nutella Latte, made with hazelnut, chocolate, espresso and milk. Clear your mind in this Doylestown coffee shop’s soothing atmosphere. Check out the local art on display while sipping fair trade and eco-conscious coffee, or try one of their 27 flavors of 100% organic tea.

• Enjoy high tea at the elegant Talking Teacup Tea Room in Chalfont. Bask in the warmth of the wintery Cinnamon Orange Spice tea, a classic full-leaf black tea blended with cinnamon and orange peels. Or, try the Rooibos White Chocolate Toffee dessert tea for a decadent blend of Rooibos with toffee bits, white chocolate chips and cocoa. Both drinks are available year-round.
