150TH Gettysburg Anniversary National Civil War Battle Reenactment

Day 1 of The 150th Gettysburg Anniversary National Civil War Battle Reenactment was very well attended and the temps were in the high 80s with brutal humidity...just like it was on Day 1 of the battle 150 years ago. The difference is we are not wearing heavy wool uniforms and carrying heavy muskets and gear. (Although my camera gear is pretty darned heavy!). We also don't have anyone shooting at us and we have plenty of food, cold drinks and time to rest.  We can also go back to our hotels with air conditioning and swimming pools.

Day 1 saw the reenactment of the opening day of the battle which started out as an unplanned skirmish. (Read more HERE)

Day 2 should be even busier and the weekend crowds even more so. The reenactors are just AWESOME! The event continues through Sunday evening with the reenactment finale of Pickett's Charge.
