Edward R. Mitchell, 55, Bensalem High School Graduate

Viewings and a funeral have been set for Edward R. Mitchell, a lifelong Bucks County resident.

Edward R. Mitchell died on Sunday at Lower Bucks Hospital in Bristol Township surrounded by his family. He was 55.

Born in Bristol Township, he was a lifelong resident of Bucks County and a graduate of Bensalem High School.

He worked as a letter carrier for the US Postal Service in New Hope for 23 years until retiring two years ago. He bowled at Bristol Pike Lanes.

Mitchell was the beloved husband of 17 years of Denise W. Mitchell (nee Deppenschmidt); father of Terry Boyle, Jr. and Dorothea " Dee " Daugherty (Chris ); grandfather of Kenneth and Sarah; and the brother of Dolores, William, Frank (Valerie ), James (Connie) and Warren Mitchell. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewings Thursday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Fluehr Funeral Home, 864 Bristol Pike in Bensalem and Friday from 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 601 Bristol Pike in Croydon. His funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. Rite of Committal Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem.
