Natalia Lew, Formerly of Bensalem

Funeral arrangements have been set for Natalia Lew, a Ukraine native, who lived for more than 50 years in Bensalem.

Natalia Lew, formerly of Bensalem, died on Friday at Holy Redeemer Hospice after a short illness. She was 81.
 
She was born in Zoloto, Ukraine, the daughter of the late Pawlo and Paraskevia Gadacz. She emigrated to the United States, arriving with her family in Boston, in 1948. They settled in Baltimore, Md. before finally moving to Philadelphia.

She married the late John Lew in 1955 and in 1960 they moved to Bensalem from the Mayfair section of Philadelphia. She resided in Bensalem for more than 50 years. 

She is survived by her daughters: Natalie Rubin and her husband, Jeffrey; Dorothy Dalton and her husband, John; Mary Ann Welsh and her husband, John; and Helen Rao and her husband, Joseph. She is also survived by her grandchildren: AJ Rubin, Molly Rubin, Emily Dalton, Katie Welsh, Stephen Welsh, Robert Welsh and John Rao and her siblings: Nadia Kuzma (the late Michael) and George Gadacz (Alexandra); and many nieces and nephews. 

Her viewing will be held on Thursday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Fletcher-Nasevich Funeral Home, 9592 Bustleton Ave., Philadelphia. Parastas prayers will be sung at 7 p.m.

Her funeral will be held on Friday from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. (Panakhyda prayers will be offered at 9:45 a.m.) at St. Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, 2026 Bath Road, Bristol. Requiem Liturgy will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Elkins Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Mary's Church Ladies League which was very close to her heart.
