Retired Police Captain 'Jack' Robinson, 73

John "Jack" Robinson, a former captain with the Bensalem Township Police Department, died on Saturday. He was 73.

Born in Bristol, he was a lifelong resident of Bensalem. Robinson was a 1958 Bensalem High School graduate. He also graduated from the National FBI Academy in Quanico, Va.

He was a Bensalem Township Police officer for 42 years and retired in 2004 with the rank of captain. Robinson was also a member of the Bensalem Rescue Squad.

He loved hunting and from the age of 12 he hunted with his father, family and friends.

He will be sadly missed by his beloved wife Marian L. (Weinland) Robinson, his daughter, Kathi L. Ramirez and her husband Ed of Montrose, and his son, John "Jack" R. Robinson Jr., of Bergen, Norway. He is also survived by his brother, Harry R. Robinson of Fla., and four grandchildren; Richard Cordes Jr., Kelli Cordes, Kassidi Ramirez and Christopher R.B. Robinson.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Sunday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Tomlinson Funeral Home, 2207 Bristol Pike in Bensalem and on Monday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., followed by his service at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park in Feasterville. Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to the Bensalem Police Benevolent Association, 2400 Byberry Road, Bensalem, PA 19020.
