Dennis Veteri, 32, of Glassboro, N.J., and two others wearing Flyers jerseys were caught on video beating up two New York Rangers fans outside Geno’s Steaks in South Philly after the Winter Classic game between the two teams at Citizens Bank Park. The suspects were seen kicking the victims while they were down.

Classy right?

Other than the disappointing loss to the Rangers, it was a great event for Philadelphia to host. And then these three knuckleheads do something stupid to give the city a bad name yet again in the national news.

We are the city famous for throwing snowballs at Santa Claus at an Eagles game.

Philadelphia police have been looking for the three suspects since the incident occurred and announced Veteri’s arrest today.

Police issued a warrant Thursday and Veteri surrendered to South Detectives without incident. He was arraigned on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, conspiracy and recklessly endangering another person. Bail was set at $100,000.

When Veteri and the other two knuckleheads are sentenced, in addition to any jailtime and fines they face, the judge should also take away their Flyers jerseys and ban them from attending Philly sporting events.
