Pro Bowl Busts for Philadelphia Eagles This Year

The Philadelphia Eagles Are No-Shows in this Sunday's Pro Bowl game.

For the first time in forever, the Philadelphia Eagles will not feature a player in the Pro Bowl.

That just goes to show how badly the team played this year with its 4-12 record and how bad the rest of the league measures the Birds' talent.

Back in the day, this was a no-brainer. Birds were always among the elite.

Donovan McNabb, Brian Dawkins, David Akers, Reggie White, Jeremiah Trotter, Randall Cunningham, Brian Westbrook...to name a few.

Now, normally, tackle Jason Peters would be in this game. He's ranked as one of the top tackles in the league, but Peters missed the entire season due to injury.

Michael Vick has made it to the Pro Bowl before too, but due to injuries and inconsistency, that wasn't happening this year.

DeSean Jackson and LeSean McCoy?

Those would be the two best bets, but both suffered injuries which produced off-year statistics that don't put them among Pro Bowlers.

Nnamdi Asomugha and Dominque Rodgers-Cromartie have both been there before too. But not as Birds. They were burned all season. No chance for a Pro Bowl berth there.

Kicker Alex Henrey looked like he might have a shot, but then he had a few kicks that didn't sail through the uprights toward the end of the season.

The rest of the defense? Forget about it.

While a case might be made for Middle Linebacker DeMeco Ryans, that would basically be it. Defensive End Trent Cole didn't get it done.

The one shot the Birds had this year was with Guard Evan Mathis.

He was selected as a third alternate. But with the horrid offensive line, no one was in a rush to punch his plane ticket to Hawaii.

With so many players pulling out of the game due to injury, you think Mathis might have been bumped up.

Not this year.

So we'll all watch the game Sunday not having one player to root for.

That's sad. But it sums up the state of our season. These Birds didn't have their wings this year.

I have said it Before, The Eagles can get as Many Big Name Coaches as they want but until they get real Football players they will never go anywhere. Vick and all the Dog Killers should go

Vick won't be here next season, but as someone who needs to know I must ask, who else on the Eagles killed dogs???

The Pro Bowl is a no-show for the Pro Bowl every year. Like all "all-star" games....it's a waste of time. I'm pretty sure no one even watches that game anymore.

All we have is hope that things may change. Why the eagles have businessman as the GM, I will never know. You need a football mind in that position. Businessmen are good with numbers but, not good a picking players to wear numbers.
