10-Year-Old Boy Critical After Being Struck

Incident occurred on Gibson Road.

On March 25 at approximately 6:10 p.m., Bensalem police were dispatched to the 1300 block of Gibson Road for a struck pedestrian (10 year old boy).  

Investigation found that the boy, who's name is not being released, apparently jumped over a wooden fence along Gibson Road in front of Terry's trailer park and ran north across Gibson Road.   

A green 1990 Ford F-150, operated by James McKay, 81, of Northeast Philadelphia, was traveling east on Gibson Road, struck the juvenile as he was crossing the roadway. The vehicle remained at the scene.

The juvenile was transported to St Christopher's for Children and is currently listed in critical but stable condition. 

Alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor in the accident.
