7-Car Turnpike Accident Investigated

A seven-car crash that took place on Wednesday on the Pennsylvania Turnpike near Bensalem is being investigated by state police.

A seven-car crash that took place on Wednesday on the Pennslyvania Turnpike near Bensalem is being investigated by state police. The accident was reportedly caused by a ladder that fell off a vehicle.

The ladder struck several cars and caused others to swerve and crash, according to NBC-10. Three people were injured as a result of the pile-up, PhillyBurbs reported.

Alerts went out around 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday of a multi-car accident on eastbound Pennsylvania Turnpike near the Bensalem interchange. According to the report, all lanes had been blocked by the crash, and traffic didn't start moving until 4:30 p.m.

The three people who were injured were sent to the hospital, one to Abington Memorial and the other two to Frankford-Torresdale, according to reports.
