Bensalem Man Awaits Trial in Alleged Rape of Minor

A Bensalem man waived rape charges for higher court.

A Bensalem man facing five felony charges in connection with an alleged rape of a minor three years ago has waived the charges as he awaits further proceedings in Bucks County Court.

Armando Palacio, who was charged with rape forcible compulsion, sexual assault, statutory sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault of someone under age 16, and aggravated indecent assault without consent–all felony offenses–remains behind bars since his August arrest. He was also charged with assault without consent and indecent assault of a person under age 16, both of which are misdemeanor offenses, according to court records.

According to court documents, the charges stem from an alleged incident involving a minor under age 16 on Oct. 1, 2009.

Pennsylvania's statute of limitations is 12 years from the date of the offense for crimes including rape.

Palacio is slated to have a formal arraignment in Bucks County Court next month.
