Bensalem Man Gets Six to 12 for Vehicular Homicide

He crashed into a brick wall eluding police.

On Thursday, May 5, Mike Giovannelli, 21, of Bensalem, was sentenced to six to 12 years in state prison for crashing his car into a brick wall in August trying to flee from police and killing two friends in the process.

According to a story on PhillyBurbs.com, Giovannelli pleaded guilty in February to vehicular homicide, aggravated assault and drunken driving among other offenses for the incident that occurred at the intersection of Bellevue and Legrande avenues in Penndel.

Thomas Ritchie and Sean Smalley, both from Bensalem, died in the crash, the story stated.
