Bensalem Man Pleads No Contest to Raping 10-Year-Old

A Bensalem man entered a no contest plea to charges related to repeatedly raping a minor girl.

A 41-year-old Bensalem man charged earlier this year in the repeated rape of a minor girl, could serve more than 30 years in jail after pleading no contest in Bucks County Court, according to the Bucks County Courier Times.

Michael Somahkawahho, who will be a registered sex offender under the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act, will be sentenced in about three months, according to the newspaper.

The victim, now 13, told authorities in March that Somahkawahho began raping her at his Gibson Road home when she was 10 years old.

According to Law.com, no contest pleas are not an admission of guilt for the crime, but judges treat such pleas as an admission "and proceed to find the defendant guilty as charged."
