Bensalem Man Sent to Jail on Robbery Charges

Nicholas Canterbury is charged with robbing TD Bank and a Sunoco store in Bensalem.

A 28-year-old Bensalem man is behind bars after a district judge upheld four counts of robbery charges stemming from a pair of alleged heists at a Bensalem gas station and at a bank, according to the Bucks County Courier Times.

Nicholas Canterbury, 28, of Park Avenue, was charged in July with robbing a Sunoco gas station at Park and Hulmeville roads, and two days later, the TD bank on Byberry and Hulmeville roads.

At the time of his arrest, Bensalem authorities said Canterbury made off with $450 total from both alleged robberies.

Following testimony from victims of Canterbury's alleged crimes this week, Bensalem District Judge Leonard Brown upheld all of the charges against Canterbury, including four counts of robbery. He was sent to Bucks County prison in lieu of 10 percent of $900,000 bail, according to the newspaper.
