Bensalem Man Sentenced for Child Abuse

He faces six to 15 years.

A story on PhillyBurbs.com reported that Juan Riggins, 35, of Bolton Court, was sentenced Friday on multiple charges related to the abuse of his fiancé’s son.

According to the story, Riggins punched, tied up and whipped the 11 year old in March. He was charged with simple assault, false imprisonment, unlawful restraint, child endangerment and related crimes. For these crimes, Riggins faces six to 15 years in state prison.

According to the story, Judge Wallace Bateman told Riggins, "You assaulted, beat, viciously attacked an 11-year-old boy who was completely defenseless against you. You punched him, you beat him with a belt. It was all so unnecessary."
