Bensalem Police Department App Available for Download

The community policing initiative is now available right on your Android or iPhone.

The app has 24 possible features and options. SOme of the features include department contacts, push notifications, feedback & tip forms, as well as options to retrieve information from FEMA, the National Weather Service and the National Terror Advisory System. Other uses include links for wanted persons, videos, sex offenders and blog posts.

The phone application can be downloaded by free by searching for My Police Department or MyPD in the iPhone or Android marketplace. The police app is available to the public free of charge and is also free of any advertisements. Once downloaded you simply navigate to the Bensalem Police.

This police app is a great addition to the police department. Officers can now push out notifications and alerts and the public has a variety of ways to contact the police.

The department home screen contains a number of features with more located in the bottom menu, which activates upon touch or swipe.

The app's crime tips or questions and feedback features allow a user to choose a topic from the forms drop-down menu that best suits them and that message will then be routed to the correct officer. Forms can be sent anonymously to the department, but e-mails or phone numbers are encouraged if a response is needed. Users also have the ability to upload photos with the app tip and feedback forms.

The app is not for any type of emergency situation. It is for routine questions and information sharing. 911 is always the best method for emergency situations and response.
