Bensalem Police Find $1.2 Million Worth of Heroin During Traffic Stop

A Bensalem police officer's K-9 partner sniffed $1.2 million worth of hidden heroin after Miguel Rodriguez, 49, of Massachusetts was pulled over Tuesday.

Bensalem police got drugs off the street Tuesday—$1.2 million worth of them.

A Massachusetts man who was stopped for not using his signal was later found with $1.2 million worth of heroin in his car, the Courier Times reported.

According to the report, the man, Miguel Rodriguez, 49, of Lowell, was stopped on Lincoln Highway near the turnpike.

When Rodriguez acted extremely nervous and lied about recent travel, an officer became suspicious and used his K-9 partner to sniff the car, police told the Courier Times.

The dog found four kilos of heroin in a hidden compartment in the car, the report said.

Rodriguez was sent to Bucks County prison in lieu of 10 percent of $1 million bail, court records show.
