Black Bear Walking Around the Township: Police

Bensalem Police at 9:15 a.m. announced there was a black bear walking around a township neighborhood.

A black bear is walking around parts of the township Friday morning, Bensalem Police announced.

At 9:15 police said the bear was in the area of Edge Avenue and Michael Drive. Shortly after, police said the bear had made its way to the area of Bensalem Blvd and the PA Turnpike overpass.

The department posted the following announcement to its Facebook page: "We are currently monitoring a black bear that is walking around the area of Edge Avenue & Michael Drive. At this point we are waiting for the Game Commission to arrive."

The announcement was updated an hour later: "We are currently monitoring a black bear that is walking around the area of UPDATE: Bensalem Blvd & the PA Turnpike overpass. At this point we are waiting for the Game Commission to arrive. We will keep you updated. Keep your picnic baskets inside please...."
