Child Porn Images Found on Bensalem Man's Computer, Police Say

State investigators found 1,000s of explicit images on the man's home computer that had been downloaded from a file-sharing website, according to police.

A Bensalem man has been arrested and charged with 200 counts of child pornography and related offenses after investigators from the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Child Predator Unit discovered more than 1,000 explicit images of pre-pubescent children engaged in sexual activity on his computer.

Salvatore Barbaro, 32, has been confined to Bucks County prison, unable to post bail. Officers from the attorney general's office and the Bensalem police department executed a search warrant at his home on Cardinal Drive on July 3 and found images that had been downloaded from a file-sharing service, according to the affidavit for probable cause.

The images matched the files a special agent from the Pennsylvania Internet Crimes Against Children task Force downloaded on June 10, prompting the investigation.

Police say that Barbaro waived his attorney rights when he was taken in to custody. Police say that during questioning at the Bensalem police station, Barbaro said he downloaded child pornography for the past five years, including infant pornography.

By using the file sharing system, images Barbaro allegedly downloaded could also be shared with other members of the service, police say. As a result, Barbaro has also been charged on counts of disseminating the images to others.

Investigators also found photos that Barbaro admitted taking two weeks ago while on a train of a 13-year-old girl whose "[expletive] was hanging out," the report says.
