Driver of Truck Found in Canal Located Safe

The man who drove his pick-up truck in the Delaware Canal in Bristol Borough Thursday has been located by police.

The man who was behind the wheel of an older pick-up truck that ended up in the Delaware Canal in Bristol Borough pre-dawn on Thursday has been located, police said.

The man did not suffer serious injury and told police he went home to change his wet clothes after the incident, police told Patch.

What lead to the truck ending up in the water remains under investigation. Police said they are unsure whether man will face charges.

Bristol resident Antonio Harvey told Patch Thursday morning he believes saw the driver of the pick-up walk past him shortly after the crash.

The incident happened near Delaware Canal Lagoon Park Fountain off Jefferson Avenue. Police and fire crews used a boat to search the shallow water around the truck for the man, unsure whether he was ejected in the crash.

The canal was constructed in the 1800s and ran along the Delaware River between Easton and Bristol Borough.

That guy is an idiot and should be chatged with leaving thr acene of an accident. Failure to report axcident and other charges. He could have had someone innocent hurt or killed jist for the fact that people were looking for him. Given that the poulce had to search the water and area for him says that he was either drunk. On something or just a stupid loser. The guy wven admites he went home and changed clothes! How long does it take to go home and do that and normal people wouldnt even walk away and abandon their vehicle!
