Home Invasion Suspect Held on Charges

Philadelphia man allegedly threatened 83-year-old woman at knifepoint.

 

held Quincy Cannon on multiple charges including robbery, kidnapping, burglary, false imprisonment and simple assault related to a home invasion of an 83-year-old Bensalem woman, according to PhillyBurbs.com.

On Oct. 29 at 2:15 a.m., were called to a home on Crafton Drive in Nottingham where an elderly woman reported she was sleeping in her bed when a male forced his way into her home, held a knife to the victim and demanded money or he will kill her, police reported at the time.

Police said Cannon tied up the woman and stole her debit card. He then went to a near by bank withdrew money from the victim’s account.

The victim was able to free herself about an hour or so latter, by cutting the rope with her teeth. She then called the police.

According to PhillyBurbs, the woman pretended to have a heart attack when Cannon threatened her with a knife and asked her to go with him to an ATM machine to withdraw money from her account.

“I was scared when he told me that,” she said at a preliminary hearing, according to PhillyBurbs. “I told him I had pain in my chest, I can’t breathe and I fell down.”

Cannon, 25, of the 2600 block of W. Dauphin Street, Philadelphia, remains in Bucks County Prison in lieu of $5 million case bail.

Cannon was apprehended a few days after the crime at when an observant dealer recognized him from media coverage and called police.
