Local Man Faces Rape, Kidnapping Charges

He allegedly lured a neighbor, held her at knife point and taped her mouth.

 

On Feb. 23, arrested Michael Draves, 31, of the 3200 block of Hulmeville Road, for attempting to kidnap and rape a female neighbor. 

According to police, At 8:45 a.m., Bensalem police responded to the Crestwood apartment complex and observed the victim with clear packing tape still around her face and head area.

She reported that Draves asked for her assistance. When she entered his apartment Draves began forcing her into his bedroom at knife point. When she began to scream Draves wrapped the tape around her mouth and head. She was able to escape from his grasp and negotiate her exit out of the apartment. She then called police for assistance.

Draves who, refused to open his door for police, was found inside the apartment and arrested without incident. He was charged with attempted rape, unlawful restraint and related offenses.

He was arraigned before District Judge Leonard Brown and remanded to Bucks County Prison in lieu of $750,000 bail.
