Man Charged with $1M Cocaine Possession to Serve 4 Years Max

A Philadelphia man charged with possession with intent to deliver 10 kilograms of cocaine will serve a maximum of four years in prison under a deal reached.

A Philadelphia man charged in September with transporting $1 million worth of cocaine will serve no more than four years in prison under a deal reached, according to the Bucks County Courier Times.

Kevin Martin, 55, of Blakemore Street in Philadelphia, was arrested and charged with drug manufacturing, possession and delivery and related counts on Sept. 20 after police said a routine traffic stop on Interstate 95 in Bensalem revealed that the U-Haul truck he was driving had 10 kilograms of cocaine valued at $1 million, in the rear of the truck.

In court this week, Martin waived his preliminary hearing in exchange for a vow from the District Attorney's Office that, if convicted at trial, he would serve no more than four years in prison, according to the report.

Martin remains in Bucks County Correctional Facility in lieu of 10 percent of $2 million bail, according to court records.
