Man Charged with Assault, Terroristic Threats

A 51-year-old Langhorne man is behind bars after allegedly using a sawed off shotgun to terrorize his ex-wife and son. 

Robert William Daley, of the 200 block of Rosewood Avenue in Langhorne, was arrested on Thursday in the 3100 block of Moore Avenue in Bensalem and charged with two felony counts of aggravated assault, as well as two counts each of terroristic threats, possession of an instrument of crime, recklessly endangering another person and harassment, according to Bensalem Police.

Police said Daley, who was on parole, went to the home of his ex-wife and reportedly queried twice, "You know I'm coming back on Sept. 10, 2014 to get you?" 

Daley "became angry," according to court documents, walked over to the bed and pulled out a sawed off shotgun from his left leg and said, "I'd hate to have to use this," as it was pointed at the woman. 

Daley then asked where his son was, according to court documents, left the house and argued with him in the backyard before allegedly removing a shotgun from under his shirt and pointing it at him. 

Daley is being held in the Bucks County Correctional Facility in lieu of 10 percent of $50,000 bail. He awaits a preliminary hearing in district court tentatively set for next week.
