Man Stole, Used Work Credit Card: Police

A Philadelphia man allegedly used his former employer's fleet services fuel card without permission.

A 30-year-old Philadelphia man allegedly used his former employer’s fuel card to rack up more than $1,200 to “feed a drug habit,” according to police. 

Sean P. Rodgers, of the 3100 block of Unruh Avenue turned himself into Bensalem Police on Dec. 11 and was charged with a felony count of access device fraud and misdemeanor charges of receiving stolen property and theft by unlawful taking.

Police said Rodgers, who had previously worked for Laurel Awning Co., 400 Dunksferry Road in Bensalem, allegedly stole the employee-only credit card and used it 25 times from Nov. 19 through Nov. 24 at gas stations throughout the northeast section of Philadelphia for purchases totaling $1,201.10.

When police called Rodgers on Dec. 9, he “immediately admitted” to using the card without permission, according to court documents.

Rodgers allegedly told police he used the card “to obtain money to feed a drug habit.”

He remains free on $75,000 unsecured bail and awaits a preliminary hearing scheduled for next month.
