Man Surrenders to Police After Standoff

Man was barricaded in a unit in the Top of the Ridge Mobile Home Park on Gibson Road.

A man surrendered to police after a three-hour standoff situation today at a local trailer park.

According to reports on PhillyBurbs and ABC, the man, who has yet to be identified, wanted to be killed by police. He barricaded himself alone in a trailer in the Top of the Ridge Mobile Home Park in the 1400 block of Gibson Road. He was reported to have been armed with a knife.

Several mobile homes in the area were evacuated during the standoff. Bensalem police were joined by several other departments.

Police were called at 3:40 p.m. and the man surrendered at about 7:25 p.m. PhillyBurbs is reporting the man is being held for a mental health evaluation.
