A Norristown man faces misdemeanor charges of invasion of privacy and shoplifting after police say he attempted to film up women's skirts at the Bensalem Walmart on Aug. 12.
According to police, Eric Phillips, 33, was seen by a department store security guard closely following women as they shopped at the store. The guard initially thought Phillips intended to grab a purse, but then saw a small camcorder in his hand, the report says.
Police say that Phillips attempted to film up a woman's skirt without her knowledge, then reviewed the footage. Phillips then began to walk around the store with a twin pack of bar soap and a gatorade, according to the affidavit. When a manager approached him, police say, Phillips ran out of the store and left on a motorcycle.
According to police, the motorcycle's license plate traced back to Phillips, who matched the appearance of the suspect caught on the store's surveillance video during the incident.
Phillips was arraigned before District Judge Joseph Falcone and confined to Bucks County prison, unable to pay 10 percent of $50,000 bail. His preliminary hearing is tentatively set for Oct. 2 at 1:30 p.m. in Judge Falcone's courtroom.
