Penndel Police Officer Involved in Crash

Officer failed to yield to oncoming traffic. He sustained minor injuries.

The Pa. State Police Trevose station is reporting that a police officer was involved in a two-vehicle crash on Oct. 13 at 12:44 p.m.

The crash occurred at the intersection of West Lincoln Highway and Hulmeville Avenue in Penndel.

State police said Penndel officer Barry Davis, 39, was south on Lincoln Highway when he attempted to make a left turn onto Hulmeville Avenue. According to an incident report, Davis “failed to yield to oncoming traffic.”

His police cruiser was struck in the passenger side front end by a Gray Nissan Altima traveling north on Lincoln Highway. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

Davis was transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries sustained in the crash. The other driver, Brian Kelly, 23, of Hatboro, was not injured.
