PennDOT to Aid Police in Aggressive-Driving Enforcement

The theme for this statewide enforcement wave is "Distracted Drivers are Aggressive Drivers."

On June 13, PennDOT announced that part of a nearly $2.1 million statewide investment of federal funds will help municipal and state police to crack down on aggressive driving behaviors such as speeding, tailgating and running red lights.

Approximately 320 municipal police departments and the Pennsylvania State Police will carry out aggressive-driving enforcement activities through Aug. 28.

According to PennDOT spokesperson Jennifer Robinson, Bensalem police are one of the participating departments. They will use PennDOT funds to target aggressive drivers on Street Road and Route 1, she said.
