Philly Police Charge Two with Car Burglaries in Northeast, Bensalem

Major crimes auto squad shuts down fencing operation.

On Aug. 4, Philadelphia Police Major Crimes Auto Squad arrested two offenders in large theft from auto/burglary ring operating in the 7th and 8th Police districts and Bensalem.

Over the last three months Major Crimes Auto Squad and Bensalem Police compiled enough evidence to arrest these individuals and charging them with a total of 61 counts of theft from vehicle in both Philadelphia and Bensalem. 

Also discovered in this cooperative investigation was a "fencing" operation utilizing the "Cash for Gold" store located at 6907 Torresdale Ave.

Search warrants were executed at this business and over $100,000 worth of stolen items were recovered.  

Between 5 and 8 p.m. tonight, police will display items recovered. Some of the items were taken in “theft from auto” incidents occurring in Northeast Philadelphia (7th & 8th Districts) and Bensalem, Pa., over the past three months. Anyone who was a victim of a “burglary” or “theft from auto” in Northeast Philadelphia and Bensalem in 2011 is encouraged to attend.

On display will be numerous power tools and electronic devices; including laptop computers, monitors, printers, digital cameras, GPS devices, X Box 360, Play Station, Nintendo, and Wii video game systems, cellular telephones, musical instruments, contractor tools, air conditioners, snow blowers, pressure washers, lawn equipment, step ladders, etc.

Police also displayed the items on Friday and Saturday.
