Philly Police Locate Missing Elderly Man

He was found in good condition in the 26th District.

In the early morning hours of Monday, Feb. 28, a Philadelphia police officer located an elderly Bensalem man.

Family members reported Edwin Kakareka missing from the Nottingham section of the township at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday. They told Bensalem police that the 79-year-old man suffers from dementia. He was placed into NCIC as a missing endangered person.

Kakareka was last seen walking along Old Street Road by the . Police reported that he could have been headed to 30th Street Station in Philadelphia.

Police did not say exactly where the officer found Kakarek, but did say the officer was from the 26th district, which is located at Girard and Montgomery avenues in the Fishtown section of the city.

Kakaeka was found at about 1:30 a.m. in good condition. It is unknown how he was able to get to the 26th district, police said.
