Police Arrest Four-Person Robbery Ring

Suspects used dating scam to lure men to Bensalem.

The Bensalem Township Police Department has arrested four individuals responsible for committing four separate armed robberies within the Township.  According to a release, these robberies are linked to a scam that was originated on a phone dating service named “Lava Life.”

In each of the four robberies, the male victims took “Lisa” out to dinner to a restaurant located in Philadelphia.  The male victims were later invited back to a motel room in Bensalem. 

Once at the motel room with “Lisa,” another female and two male subjects would enter the hotel room and rob the victim at gunpoint.  The first reported robbery occurred on March 1 and two additional robberies occurred on March 4.

On the evening of March 5, members of Bensalem Township’s Criminal Investigations Unit and Patrol Division interrupted a robbery in progress at a motel, located along the Rt. 1 corridor. All four assailants were arrested and the gun that was used in all four robberies was recovered. 

The suspects have been identified as follows: Lisa Sourbrine, Jennifer Partington, John Taimanglo and Tariq Martin.
