Police Search for Home Invader

Elderly victim was threatened with a knife and tied to a nightstand.

Bensalem police are investigating a home invasion robbery of an 83-year-old victim.

On Oct. 29 at 2:15 a.m., police were called to a home on Crafton Drive where an elderly woman reported she was sleeping in her bed when a male forced his way into her home, held a knife to the victim and demanded money or he will kill her.

According to police, the suspect then tied up the victim’s arms and legs to a nightstand. The woman then faked a hard attack causing the actor to turn on a ceiling fan and check her pulse.  After cutting the victims phone lines and finding her debit card, he fled the scene. The suspect then went to a near by bank withdrew money from the victim’s account.

The victim was able to free herself about an hour or so latter, by cutting the rope with her teeth. She then called the police. 

According to police, the suspect is described as a 6’0” tall thin black male, possibly in his late 20s or 30s. He has a very thick identifiable beard, mustache and prominent lips and wearing a brown hooded jacket, tan cargo pants and was carrying a black Tommy Hilfiger shoulder bag.

The suspect who should be considered armed and dangerous may be in the area of Germantown section of Philadelphia.
