Police Shoot Man Who Allegedly Beat His Mother

Suspect threatened police with a knife.

According to a report on 6abc, Bensalem police shot a knife-weilding subject Thursday around 4 p.m.

The report stated that police responded to the on Richlieu Road for a reported assault. Victor Arango, 26, had reportedly beaten his mother, according to the report.

Arango threatened officers with a kitchen knife and an officer shot Arango in the stomach, the report stated. A female officer was injured during the incident and both were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Bensalem police would not comment on the incident.

"Any request for information regarding the Officer involved shooting may be directed to the Bucks County District Attorney David Heckler," said Bensalem Sgt. Andrew Aninsman.
