School District Employee Charged with Theft

A Bensalem woman allegedly stole $1,800 from the 'rainy day fund' at Cornwells Elementary School.

A Cornwells Elementary School employee is accused of stealing $1,800 from the school's "rainy day fund."

Nancy C. Kelly, 37, of the 1100 block of Lavender Road in Bensalem, was arrested on Thursday and charged with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property. Police allege that Kelly took the funds, which belonged to three Cornwells Elementary School employees, from a "secured locker" at the school on Oct. 16. 

Kelly, who awaits a preliminary hearing scheduled for next week, is free on $5,000 unsecured bail.
