SEPTA Train Strikes, Kills Man

A SEPTA train struck and killed a 21-year-old man on Saturday evening.

A 21-year-old man was struck and killed by a Trenton-bound SEPTA train near Bristol Station, according to SEPTA officials.

The incident took place on the border of Bristol Borough and Bristol Township about a half-mile from the Bristol Station near the 3800 block of Otter Street, SEPTA's Press Officer Andrew Busch said.

An article on PhillyBurbs said that Bucks County Coroner Dr. Joseph Campbell identified the man who was struck and killed as Ryan Hoover. He declared the death an accident.

The train was an outbound Trenton Line Regional Rail train on its way to Trenton, he said.

"The incident occurred at approximately 10:30 p.m. Saturday," Busch said. "Service was suspended on the Trenton Line following the incident for approximately two-and-a-half hours, resuming at approximately 1 a.m."

After the accident, SEPTA sent a shuttle bus to transport the 58 passengers who were on the train involved in the incident, Busch told Patch.

"There were no injuries to any passengers or SEPTA employees," he said.
