State Police Make 3 DUI Arrests

State Police released recent crime information, including three DUI citations.

DUI charges are pending for three individuals after state police responded to three separate incidents, according to reports.

On Jan. 19 just before midnight, Trooper Craig M. Acord observed a vehicle being operated in an erratic manner traveling north on 95 near mile marker 33 in Bensalem, a police release said. The operator of the vehicle, a 29-year-old male from Philadelphia, was found to be intoxicated. He was transported to the state police's Trevose Station where he was evaluated by Drug Recognition Expert Trooper Christopher Nacious and was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance. The man was taken to St. Mary's Hospital for chemical testing before being transported back to the station where he was processed and released. This case will proceed via summons, according to the police release.

At 2:30 a.m. on Jan. 19, Trooper Kevin Lee observed a White Honda Accord illegally parked between the right lane and the right shoulder on 95 south at mile marker 37, police reports said. A traffic stop was initiated and through further investigation, the operator—a 33-year-old male from Hillsborough, NJ—was found to be intoxicated and subsequently arrested for driving under the influence. Charges are filed in relation to driving under the influence, according to reports.

On Jan. 20 at 3:50 a.m. State Trooper Dung X. Martinez investigated a disabled vehicle on the shoulder at mile marker 44.5 on 95 northbound in Middletown Township. While interviewing the operator of the vehicle, a 29-year-old woman from Hamilton, NJ, he smelled alcohol on her breath or body. The woman told the officer that she did drink some alcoholic beverages. She then failed field sobriety tests and was arrested for DUI, according to a release. Charges will be filed.
