Stolen Vehicle Catches Fire After Crashing During Police Chase
Pennsylvania State Police attempted to initiate a traffic stop for a stolen vehicle before the driver fled and crashed into another vehicle.
A driver of a stolen car crashed into another vehicle after trying to elude a police officer on Monday afternoon, State Police said.
Korrie Dayanar Santiago, 21, of Philadelphia was charged with theft, receiving stolen property, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, driving without a license and various traffic violations, after police said she failed to stop at a traffic stop on a stolen vehicle on Monday, April 8.
State Trooper Bernie J. Mullen, Jr., attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a stolen vehicle on Ford Road at Route 413 in Bristol Township at 1:40 p.m., when Santiago failed to stop, according to the police report. A pursuit ensued in Bristol and continued until the driver of the stolen vehicle struck another vehicle on Street Road near I-95 in Bensalem Township.

Santiago and a passenger in the stolen vehicle sustained injuries, according to police, and were removed from the vehicle, which had caught on fire. State Troopers extinguished the fire and took the two people into custody. Both were transported to the hospital.
The driver in the vehicle that was struck sustained minor injuries, police said.
