Tenant Stole Flash Drives, Computer, Video Camera: Police

Bensalem Police allege that a woman stole several items from the home of a man from whom she rented a room.

A 41-year-old Bensalem woman is behind bars after allegedly stealing items valued at about $500 from a man from whom she rented a room, according to Bensalem Police. 

Brenda Smith of the 2200 block of Camel Avenue, was arrested on Friday and charged with a felony count of theft by unlawful taking, as well as a misdemeanor charge of receiving stolen property. 

Police allege that Smith stole eight flash drives valued at $150, a Gateway computer worth $100 and a JVC video camera worth $230, according to court documents. 

The homeowner—who had rented a room to Smith—told police Smith left a note advising him that she took the items, according to police. 

She is being held in the Bucks County Correctional Facility in lieu of 10 percent of $30,000 bail. She awaits a preliminary hearing tentatively scheduled for Thursday.
