Townhome Fire Quickly Contained

The fire occurred on Prescott Court in Bensalem Saturday evening.

A blaze in the attic of a townhome on Prescott Court in Bensalem was quickly contained by firefighters Saturday shortly after 6 p.m.

No injuries were reported. However, the fire caused some damage to the attic of 5755 Prescott Court and destroyed clothes that were stored in the space, Newport Fire Company Battalion Chief Andrew Witmer said.

Firefighters were at the scene within four minutes and quickly supressed the flames, Witmer told Patch.

The home remained habitable as of Saturday evening, the battalion chief said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Bensalem fire marshal's office.

Crews from the Levittown, Nottingham, Newport, Pendel and William Penn fire companies responded to the fire. Bensalem Township EMS was also on-scene.
