Trevose Troopers Report Drunk Drivers, Drugs, Theft

The following information was provided by the Pennsylvania State Police Trevose station. It does not imply conviction.

Between May 4-7, responded to the following incidents:

On May 4 at 12:54 a.m., state police stopped a vehicle for speeding on I-95 northbound at milepost 36.8 in Bensalem. The driver, Andrew L. Belton, 41, of Levittown, was found to be impaired. He faces DUI charges. Trooper John McIlhinney investigated the incident.

On May 4 at 9:15 p.m., state police responded to Trenton Road, Hulmeville Boro for a reported burglary. Police said a victim reported that an unknown actor removed bicycle parts worth $100 from her shed. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at 215-942-3900. Trooper Frederick Williams investigated the incident.

On May 5 at 2:36 a.m., state police stopped a vehicle for speeding on I-95 northbound at milepost 33.4 in Bensalem. The driver, Angel L. Robles Jr., 20, of Trevose, was found to be intoxicated. He faces DUI charges in district court. Trooper Kevin Lee investigated the incident.

On May 6 at 12:55 a.m., state police conducted a traffic stop on I-95 southbound at milepost 35.5 in Bensalem. The driver, Mamadou Barry, 26, of Philadelphia, fled the scene when the trooper approached the vehicle. He engaged in a high-speed pursuit, which ended at milepost 30 in Philadelphia. Mamadou was identified and later found at his residence and taken into custody. Charges are pending. Trooper Thomas Geerlof investigated the incident with assistance from troopers from other stations.

On May 7 at 1:30 p.m., state police stopped a vehicle on Route 1 at the Pa. Turnpike in Bensalem. The driver, Joseph Welsh, of Philadelphia, was found to be in possession of a ½ pound of suspected marijuana and a digital scale. Welsh faces drug charges. He was arraigned before Judge Kline in Bristol Township. Trooper Joseph Krut investigated the incident.
