A 36-year-old woman tired to fight off police as they arrested her.

Taminka Ford did not leave Calvary Full Gospel Church in Falls Township without a fight Friday evening, police said.

The 36-year-old Trevose resident is charged with defiant trespassing, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct after an incident that disrupted a church youth group and forced a classroom to be cleared of students Friday evening.

The woman, who had a history of getting confrontational with church leaders and parishioners, acted in a “belligerent” manner and told police multiple times that the group leader and others were out to get her, police stated in the criminal complaint.

Police said they were called to the Lincoln Highway church just after 9 p.m. for reports that an unwanted person was refusing to leave.

The leader of the Friday evening church youth group told officers Ford arrived and would not leave when asked. The leader then told the woman he was calling police and she asked him to “go ahead” and said she was not leaving, the criminal complaint said.

The court document states that the woman was found standing in the rear of a classroom glaring at the floor as kids were evacuated from the room.

Police were able to get Ford outside and begin talking to her. The officers confirmed she had no children at the youth group and said the church officials wanted her to leave.

The affidavit states the woman continued being belligerent, could not answer simple questions and then attempted to walk back into the building.

A patrolman told her she would be arrested for trespassing if she went into the school; she then tried to walk into the building.

Ford was put in cuffs after she attempted to push a police officer and flailed her legs and feet, police said.

The 36-year-old remains in county jail on 10 percent of $75,000 bail.
