Troopers Investigate Three Crashes on I-95

Accidents included DUI, hit-and-run and icy road.

Between Oct. 30 and Nov. 1, troopers from the Trevose station investigated the following accidents:

On Oct. 30 at 2:40 a.m., state police responded to a one-vehicle crash on I-95 southbound at milepost 38.4 in Bensalem. Police said the driver, Kareema Lawson, 37, of Bristol, lost control of her vehicle due to icy road conditions on the Neshaminy Creek Bridge. The vehicle spun out and hit the guide rail. Lawson was not injured. Trooper Kevin Lee investigated the incident.

On Oct. 31 at 6:34 p.m., state police responded to a hit-and-run accident on I-95 southbound at milepost 37.1 in Bensalem. Police said a vehicle driven by a 29-year-old Bensalem woman was struck on the left side by another vehicle described as an older, blue American pickup with minor damage to its right side. When the drivers were about to exchange information, the other driver returned to his vehicle and fled the scene. The driver was described as a white male. Trooper Thomas Geerlof investigated the incident.

On Nov. 1 at 3:15 p.m., state police responded to the scene of a two-vehicle accident on I-95 northbound at milepost 38.5. Police said a vehicle driven by Michael Matos, 31, of Trenton, struck the rear end of another vehicle driven by a 28-year-old Levittown woman. Police found Matos to be intoxicated and refused a blood test. The other driver was transported to Lower Bucks hospital for injuries sustained in the crash. Trooper Denny Varghese investigated the incident.
