Troopers Report Accidents, DUIs, Fugitive Apprehension

Individuals involved were from Southampton, Philadelphia, Langhorne and Levittown.

Between March 23 and March 30, responded to the following incidents:

Lost Control

On March 23 at 12:47 p.m., state police from the Trevose station responded to a one-vehicle accident on the ramp from Woodhaven Road to I-95 northbound. Police said a vehicle driven by Jamel Hamzaoui, 36, of Southampton, failed to negotiate the curve, lost control and struck several small trees and a ditch. There were no injuries police said. Hamzaoui was issued a written warning for speed. Trooper Christopher Tavernier investigated the incident.

Box Spring Accident

On March 26 at 10:05 a.m., state police responded to an accident on I-95 at milepost 35.9. Police said a vehicle driven by Robert Jolly, 45, of Philadelphia, lost a twin box spring it had been carrying. An ambulance driving behind Jolly attempted to avoid the box spring resulting in injuries sustained by a patient riding in a stretcher in the rear. Jolly was cited for failing to secure his load properly resulting in property damage and injury. The victim was transported to Lower Bucks Hospital for injuries sustained in the crash. Trooper Christopher Tavernier investigated the incident.

DUI

On March 29 at 1:49 a.m., state police stopped a vehicle driven by Ylli GJeli, 46, of Philadelphia, on I-95 for traffic violations. He was found to be intoxicated, given a blood test, processed and released. Charges to be filed in district court. Trooper John McIlhinney investigated the incident.

Another DUI

On March 30 at 1:52 a.m., state police stopped a vehicle driven by Joseph P. Turchi, 34, of Langhorne, for traffic violations on I-95 at milepost 34.8. He was found to be intoxicated, given a blood test, processed and released. Charges to be filed in district court. Trooper Steven Moyer investigated the incident.

Fugitive Apprehended

On March 30 at 5:35 p.m., state police arrested Logan Taylor, 33, of Levittown, during a traffic stop at Exit 40 of I-95 Route 413 in Bristol Township. Taylor was found to have an active probation warrant out of Philadelphia. Trooper Oliverio investigated the incident.
