Troopers Report Casino Incidents, Deer Crash, Fugitive Arrest

The following information was provided by the Pa. State Police Trevose station. It does not imply conviction.

Between Nov. 2-3, responded to the following incidents:

On Nov. 2 between 3:45 and 4:26 p.m., a 41-year-old female patron at left her designer clutch purse behind at a slot machine. The purse contained cash, credit cards and assorted ID. Another patron took possession of the purse and later returned it without incident. Trooper R. Keeys investigated the incident.

On Nov. 2 at about 8:10 p.m., state police responded to Parx Casino for a reported forgery. Police said a 57-year-old male from Philadelphia attempted to exchange a counterfeit $10 bill. Trooper R. Keeys investigated the incident.

On Nov. 3 at 1:10 a.m., state police responded to an accident on I-95 northbound at Exit 51 in Lower Makefield. Police said a 31-year-old man from Somerville, NJ, was driving in the left lane of the highway when a deer ran directly in front of his vehicle. He struck the deer and vehicle was towed from the scene. The driver and his passenger were uninjured. Trooper Robert Richter investigated the incident.

On Nov. 3 at 3:20 a.m., state police stopped a vehicle for speeding on I-95 northbound at milepost 34.8 in Bensalem. Police said the driver failed to produce valid ID, registration or insurance credentials. The suspect was taken back to the Trevose station where he was identified as Jose Luis Flores-Mejia, 41, of Trenton, a deported felon wanted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). A search of Flores resulted in the seizure of $2,000 cash and a small amount of marijuana. He was turned over to ICE. Trooper Robert Richter investigated the incident.
