Troopers Report Crashes, Theft, Counterfeit Money

The following information was provided by the Pa. State Police Trevose station. It does not imply conviction.

Between March 27 and April 4, responded to the following incidents:

On March 27 at 8:33 a.m., state police responded to a hit-and-run accident on I-95 northbound at milepost 33.7 in Bensalem. Police said a silver Honda Civic driven by a Hispanic male changed lanes and struck another vehicle fleeing northbound on I-95. No injuries were reported. Anyone with information should contact state police at 215-942-3900. Trooper Brandon Horlacher investigated the incident.

On March 28 around 5:30 p.m., state police responded to Parx Casino for a reported theft. Police said a 60-year-old female from Cranbury, NJ, dropped her wallet and another patron took possession of it. The wallet contained a sizeable amount of currency and assorted ID. The investigation is continuing by Trooper R. Keeys.

On March 28 at 9 p.m., state police responded to for a reported counterfeit/forgery. Police said a 53-year-old male from Bradley Beach, NJ, attempted to exchange six counterfeit $20 bills at a roulette table game. Trooper R. Keeys investigated the incident.

On March 30 at 3:30 a.m., state police responded to Parx Casino for a criminal trespass. Police said William J. Grainger, of Howell, NJ, was told to leave the casino grounds and would not leave. He was arrested for defiant trespass. Trooper Daniel Reed investigated the incident.

On March 30 at 7:15 a.m., state police responded to Bellevue Avenue in Hulmeville for a reported harassment. Police said Andrew W. LaPorte Jr., 46, and Brian P. Masterson, 34, became involved in a verbal argument and threats were made. Both were charged with harassment. Trooper Joseph Schmidt investigated the incident.

On March 30 about 9:25 p.m., state police responded to Parx Casino for a reported counterfeit/forgery. Police said a 63-year-old male from Bradley Beach, NJ, attempted to exchange a counterfeit $20 bill at the cashier. Trooper R. Keeys investigated the incident.

On March 31 at 12:40 a.m., state police did a security check at the Yardley rest area on I-95 southbound in Lower Makefield. Police ran an NCIC check on Reuben K. Harris, 57, of Lake Wylie, SC, and found that he was wanted out of Broward County, Florida. He was taken into custody without incident. Trooper Dung Martinez investigated the incident.

On April 1 at 5:03 p.m., state police responded to Parx Casino for a reported counterfeit/forgery. Police said a 55-year-old female from Norristown, PA, attempted to exchange a counterfeit $20 bill at the main cashier. Trooper R. Keeys investigated the incident.

On April 1 at 8:52 a.m., state police responded to a one-vehicle accident on I-95 southbound at milepost 49.6 in Lower Makefield. Police said a 22-year-old male from Newtown was travelling in the right lane when he swerved into the left lane to avoid a deer in the roadway. He lost control, struck an embankment and his vehicle overturned. He was transported to St. Mary Medical Center by Yardley Makefield 100 ambulance for unknown injuries. Trooper Brandon Horlacher investigated the incident.

State police said a theft from a motor vehicle occurred between April 2 at 9:30 p.m. and April 3 at 8 a.m. in the 600 block of Main Street in Hulmeville. The victim told police someone broke into her vehicle and removed an Apple iPad, a phone charger and various coins and fled the scene. The total value stolen was estimated at $225. Trooper Martin investigated the incident.

On April 3 at 9:40 a.m., state police responded to a one-vehicle crash on I-95 northbound at milepost 35.6 in Bensalem. Police said a 21-year-old female from Philadelphia was traveling in the left lane when she swerved to avoid debris in the roadway and lost control, striking the guiderail in the right shoulder. She was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital by Bensalem EMS. Trooper Robert Richter investigated the incident.

On April 4 at 12:25 a.m., state police responded to Parx Casino for a reported counterfeit/forgery. Police said a 23-year-old male attempted to exchange a counterfeit $20 bill at the main cashier cage. Trooper Craig Acord investigated the incident.
