Woman Threatened to Bomb Bucks County Community College, Police Say

Laura Thomas, 22, of Blooming Glenn has been arrested for threatening to bomb Bucks County Community College Wednesday.

A 22-year-old woman is in custody after threatening to bomb Bucks County Community College Wednesday, Newtown Township police said.

A female caller, later identified as Laura Thomas, 22, of Blooming Glenn, told the dispatcher at the county’s 911 center at 3:30 p.m. that the bomb would go off in two hours, police said. 

A second call repeating the threat was made a short time later by the same person, police said.

Responding officers met with the school’s security personnel, who assisted in identifying a student associated with the cell phone number used to make the calls.  GPS tracking of the cell phone indicated that the caller was on the campus, police said. 

Thomas was located at 4 p.m. and taken into custody without incident. Police investigated and found there was no bomb.

She was transported to Northampton Township Police Department to be processed and arraigned via video by Judge Jean Seaman.  Thomas's bail was set at $100,000.

She was sent to Bucks County Prison because she could not post bail, police said.
