Bucks County Hosts Public Meetings on Bike Plan

The nearest meeting to Bensalem is on April 13 at the Silver Lake Nature Center, Bristol.

The Bucks County Commissioners, in conjunction with the county Planning Commission and the Bucks County Bicycle Task Force (BCBTF), are developing a countywide Bike Plan and are seeking public input. The county retained the consulting services of Johnson, Mirmiran and Thompson, Inc. (JMT) to aid in the preparation of a bike master plan to identify on-and off-road trails that will create a network of bicycle facilities, a release stated.

As part of the planning process the county will host three public meetings to educate county residents about the plan and to gather input on the vision statement, location of facilities, education and outreach elements, and the economic impacts of the cycling community.

The format for each public meeting will be a project presentation followed by a public involvement exercise. The times and addresses are as follows:

  • Quakertown Borough Building, 35 N. Third Street, Quakertown: Monday, April 11 – 6 to 8 p.m.
  • Silver Lake Nature Center, 1306 Bath Rd., Bristol: Wednesday, April 13 – 6 to 8 p.m.
  • Doylestown Township Building, 425 Wells Rd., Doylestown: Wednesday, April 20 – 6 to 8 p.m.
