Bucks County has launched a new initiative that aims to provide the county's older residents with cell phones to make emergency calls to 9-1-1.
Sheriff Edward “Duke” Donnelly announced the “Cells for Seniors” program in a posting on the county website.
The Sheriff’s office is collecting old or unused cell phones and chargers to help with the initiative. Each donated phone will be wiped out by the Sheriff’s office and then handed out to local seniors to call 9-1-1 only.
There are collection sites at three county facilities. Place your donated items in a Ziploc bag and drop them off in one of the following designated collection bins at:
- Upper Bucks Government Services Center, 261 California Road, Quakertown
- Lower Bucks Government Services Center, 7321 New Falls Road, Levittown
- Bucks County Courthouse (2nd Floor Lobby), 55 East Court St., Doylestown
Donations also can be given to any Sheriff Deputy.
