Estee Lauder Plans to Expand, Add Jobs at Bristol Township Facility

New jobs are expected to be added to Bristol Township when Estee Lauder expands their facility.

A 53,865-square-foot addition onto a building at the Keystone Industrial Park is expected to bring at least 40 new jobs to Bristol Township, officials said.

Township council last week approved plans for Estee Lauder to add on to their current facility. All the council members approved, except for Amber Longhitano. The councilwoman was away attending to personal matters, Council President Bob Lewis said.

The company was willing to pay fees in lieu of trees and sidewalks, but Councilman Rick Pluta said the fees should be waived, as Estee Lauder is merely building an addition. The rest of present council agreed and waived the fees.

Councilman Craig Bowen asked that the addition be built using tradespeople from the township. One seat over, Councilman Tony Tucker asked the cosmetic, hair product and fragrance company to try to hire community members.

Civil engineer Robert Showalter told township officials the project is likely to begin in the coming weeks.

According to a Courier Times report, Estee Lauder moved to Bristol Township in 2011 when they took over the 242,000-square-foot building that formerly house Jones New York. The move brought roughly 200 jobs to the community, the story said.
